This summer has brought me all around the world, from Italy, France, & Portugal, to Southern California, the Midwest, the South, and many, many places in between. Travel is transformative on many levels, but observing people from all different places, upbringings, and backgrounds connect tangibly to the land – the richness and beauty in the earth – is powerful and uniting. We are connected by the soil, the wind, the minerals that fill our bodies, we are intricately designed to exist within this beautiful eco system – bettering it and ourselves as we avidly explore and enjoy it.
There is a phrase I come back to over and over again: “Nature praises Peace” because an interesting thing happens when you take time to enjoy the world: your lungs fill with the sweet air and your mind slowly finds rest and your heart peace.
Something about the wind, the many shades of greens and browns, the water, the dirt, the surprising things that grow in its crevices, these things all culminate into a grand picture of belonging and vastness.
We are made for this. We are created to be a part of the beautiful and intricate landscape.
This collection is based on this theme: finding peace in nature
There are 27 oil paintings in this series and each of them brought me excitement and peace. They feature rich greens and deep blues – thanks to some super-fine oil paints I bought at a historic art shop in London.
I hope these pieces speak to you as they did me. The collection will be live on my website at 4:00 pm eastern time.
