I took a class last night called “How To Win at Business Cards” offered by Alt and taught by Laurie Smithwick. So many fantastic design tips, bits of advice, and oh, the stunning cards she showed us…. oh my.
This class really couldn’t have come at a better time for me. I just redesigned my cards last week! Waiting on a trip to my favorite printers before I show you all, but I’m quite excited about them. This course reassured me that I’m on the right path. These cards are going to be a bit different and I think that’s a good thing!
I do have one little question for you: Do you ever scan QR barcodes? If I were to incorporate one into the design that linked to my website would it be helpful? There is room on my card and it works well in the design. Personally, I’m loving the idea, but I’m kind of an iphone nerd and I know not everyone goes through life with phone in hand like I do! I would so appreciate your thoughts please!!
Here are a few of my favorite tips from the class:
If you’re interested in finding out more about any of the STUNNING designs shown just click on the photograph. They all have been linked back to the source and ready to go!
I say a definite no to QR codes. I never scan them and I think they’re a passing fad. Great seeing you in the Alt class last night!

I’m so on the edge! I have a couple of art + craft shows coming up that are SO busy and crazy. I think it may (?) be helpful at those just to make it easier for people to find me, but I don’t know. My new card design has a little extra room do to the two page “booklet” format. Maybe I’ll put it on the back with a little incentive just for these shows. hmmmm….

Love the card designs!!! I myself am not really one to scan QR codes and am hearing more and more that they are going out of fashion. However I do know quite a number of people who still scan anything and everything so it could still be of use at this present time.

I never really scan QR codes, however maybe I should. I would say don’t put one on your business card.
