Happy Friday! In case you can’t tell, I’m in the middle of an intense art creating marathon. I actually haven’t even shown you half of the pieces I’ve created over the last two weeks. It’s been so refreshing and SO much fun. I get my paints out (well, really they haven’t been put away at all) a little bowl of dark chocolate ice cream, a big mug of strong coffee, and start up the music and paint, paint, paint! My husband has been away for a while for training, so I figure I might as well stay busy!
I really love painting flowers and plants because, for me, each flower is challenging and new. They’re all different and all beautiful and all have unique colors and characteristics. I had fun adding the color inspiration for this painting on the edge. They reminded me of racing stripes when it all came together (hence the name)! This is a little painting, 4×4 inches, on a beautiful fabric “canvas”.
I’ve had a song rolling around in my head for the past few days as I paint these stunning and fragile flowers ( C.S. Lewis Song by Brooke Fraser). It talks about how all of the earth sings praise and that mercy and that hope comes in the morning. The whole song is incredibly poetic and beautiful!
“Speak to me in the light of the dawn. Mercy comes with the morning. I will sigh and with all creation groan as I wait for hope to come for me”
Guess who is coming back tonight!! Ya!
Have a beautiful weekend everyone! See you Monday!
