Artist Showcase: Cristina Troufa

Hello!  I don’t know about you, but these paintings rocked my world a little bit!  Cristina Troufa, a crazy talented artist from Portugal, uses such a unique approach to painting (or rather, not painting).  Her paintings are all focused on people and the human form: how they move, what they’re thinking, and how they feel.  Coming from someone who has struggled with drawing anatomy: this is not easy.   Yet Cristina Troufa makes these forms look so incredibly realistic and human.  Mostly without paint.   Wow.

Most of the form is implied with line, with the face and skin totally stealing the show.  The thing that I find so exciting (personally!) is all the brush strokes and colors used in the skin tones.  Stunning!

Stop by Cristina Troufa’s shop and blog to see a wealth of paintings and mixed media pieces.

Most days you can find me, in the studio with my little girls, speckled in oil paint (drinking too much coffee), creating artwork for collectors around the world and collaborating with select brands. Check out my artwork on EmilyJeffords.com
