Hello, and happy Friday! Is anyone else relieved that this blessed day has arrived? I am sooo looking forward to a picture perfect day in down town Charleston with my little cute babies and husband!
{slightly embarrassing story} I was trying to write a simple sentence (with a good old-fashioned pen and paper) and had the hardest time making it look lovely! In fact, it look horrid! A small child would have done a better job that I did. I think I normally have decent handwriting, but I guess I’m out of practice! This is certainly something I need to work on! The appearance of your handwriting is like body language so there really are a million ways to “say” a word given all the little nuances in the text. …and we all know how important body language is in real life! Perhaps handwriting should get a little more attention?
The same is true of typography! Most type starts on paper, getting worked and reworked until it speaks with the perfect voice and tone, conveying all the right emotions.
These examples are perfect (along with being completely well designed and major eye-candy!)
1. Such delicate work and great attention to detail in this typography! I love the old-fashioned elements and the way Veronika Filippova treats the text as artwork. | 2. Travel Quotes designed by Becca Clason, has a fantastic flow with the ribbon like text and almost song like appearance. | 3. Metropolis Font is a high impact, modern/vintage font designed by Josip Kelava. The parallel lines and tall form of the letters makes this a font worth noticing! …and it’s free (with a donation if you feel inclined!) | 4. “Even So” art print designed by Ashley Pyeatt. I love the attention she gave to each word, giving them each their own voice
i love your blog! I just found it, and i am loving it!
