Happy Monday! I learned something today… I’ve been pronouncing “Mauve” wrong my whole life. I think everyone I know has too! It’s pronounced “mohv“! What?? Am I the only person this is news to? Now the color “Mauve” (I’m still re-teaching myself) seems so much more fashionable and trendy! I think it should always be in italics. “Mauve“. …So posh.
Mauve, the nasty old way I was pronouncing it (more like “mawve”), always reminded me of dirty-dusty-stiff purple dresses from 100 years ago (and not the cool-vintage ones…) and a grouchy old lady named Maude (sorry if your name is Maude!!!!!)
Seriously, this color has some potential! It’s a tiny bit grey-toned for my day-to-day style, but I think it has some new possibilities in my mind now. Branding is everything, isn’t it?
So, let’s bring MAUVE back!
What do you think of Mauve? Love it? Hate it? Never ever thought about it?

So, as a self proclaimed lover of colors, I couldn’t really make a blanket statement that I hated mauve, but I secretly I hated it. This until I realized that the cute jacket I just bought -because I loved the color- was totally mauve. I paired it with kelly green, it looks great, i now believe in mohv!
