Artist Showcase: Lulie Wallace

So I know, yesterday, I said there would be a guest post today, but sorry… you’re stuck with me again! But don’t worry, she’ll be sharing her secrets with you soon! Worth the wait!

These whimsically beautiful paintings would look perfect in pretty much every room in my house (let me guess, your house too?) Such eye candy! I love the layers and layers of color in these paintings. The artist, Lulie Wallace, does a fantastic job of using lovely, trendy colors, and not over thinking how the painting “evolves”.

One of my favorite little features of her work are the under painting! I love that she paints a vibrant color first, then layers so many colors and textures over that, allowing the under color to show through. And speaking of textures, aren’t these patterns and textures (like the stripes and argyles) in the background great?

Lulie’s impressionistic-modern style is so charming, and of course, I have a strong affinity to a vase full of flowers (but really, what girl doesn’t). If you are in the Charleston area, be sure to stop by Lulie’s charming studio and, if not, visit her shop!

Most days you can find me, in the studio with my little girls, speckled in oil paint (drinking too much coffee), creating artwork for collectors around the world and collaborating with select brands. Check out my artwork on EmilyJeffords.com
