It seems I have a “thing” for watercolor paintings depicting European cities. When I think I’ve found my new favorite watercolorist, I find another artist I love just as much! I suppose I shall have to start a collection of favorites.
Rafał Rudko is definable in that list! He is a highly skilled watercolor artist. I am extremely impressed with his versatility and ability to make each painting unique. Notice the simple shapes combined with areas of detail and high contrast that make up these stunning city-scapes. Beautiful. Rafał has spent much of his life studying architecture, drawing and painting. He says about watercolor painting: “I was fascinated by its lightness, speed and unpredictability.”
Stop by his website and gallery to see seemingly endless watercolors, each stunningly beautiful.
Tomorrow, you’re in for a treat! Guest post by graphic designer Katy Campbell!
His use of soft and hard edges is incredible! You can see the reflections in his work as if there was water on his page. What great talent. I aspire to paint with waters this well.
Those are my favorite just out of his City collection.
Thank you for sharing this artist!
