Beautiful Disasters, the Masterpiece Paintings of Alex Kanevsky

Several of these paintings are perfect representations of my life right now.  controlled chaos (ok, really just chaos.)   We’re packing up all our belongings and getting ready to move across the country!   Alex Kanevsky is missing a prime opportunity!  We would be perfect models for his real-life portraits and a true case study on how crazy people act and what they do while living in such commotion.

I love the way Alex Kanevsky accentuates the beautiful elements, colors, contrast, and forms of his subject and surroundings.  His paintings style is so real and rushed, yet controlled and systematic.  You can tell this artist knows what he is doing!  His use of shades is what first really drew me in.  Notice how many shades there are on each wall and surface.  My first exposure to his work was “Pink Room”, a 24 x 18, oil on wood (shown below).  I was enwrapped in awe.  Stunning, beautiful, chaotic, and yet simple.

I feel as though I could go on and on about these stunning paintings, but in the end, they speak perfectly for themselves!  What are your thoughts on these pieces?

In an interview with Vivianite, Alex Kanevsky had some wise words for young artists:  “Build up your self esteem to the level that might seem unwarranted. This will help you ignore both positive and negative responses to your paintings. Both are usually misguided, since they come from the outside. Be your most severe and devastating critic, while never doubting that you are the best thing since sliced bread.

The moment something works well and is under control – is the time to give it up and try something else.”

…and with that gem of inspiration, I’m back to packing!

Have a Beautiful Wednesday!
