little painting progress: “Nearing 14367”

Over this gloriously long weekend Dan and I stocked up on art supplies…   which I completely love doing.   We got a bunch of 4×4 gallery wrapped canvases; and boy, are they adorable!   I can’t wait to get them all completed!

I worked on the first one last night.  I love the warm late-summer hues, especially in the sky.  I’ve always thought that skies are so interesting to paint.  There are millions of different variations to the sky, lighting, clouds…  but people usually just assume that a sky is blue and white.  Not true!  It can be…  but there are so many lovely variations and shades of yellow, pink, green, purple…   I like to think of them as God’s paintings.

Most days you can find me, in the studio with my little girls, speckled in oil paint (drinking too much coffee), creating artwork for collectors around the world and collaborating with select brands. Check out my artwork on EmilyJeffords.com
